22 Sep The Simple Things
The real gift that these times has brought us is to truly appreciate the simple things that we have previously bulldozed over in our busy lives. The sunshine warming your face, a nurturing bush walk, the feel of the grass underneath your feet, watching plants bloom in your garden, a walk with the dog wagging his tail, morning yoga out on your deck, a comforting home cooked meal, sitting around the table together sharing stories, diving into an adventurous new book, making yourself a cup of special herbal tea, losing yourself in a new painting project and looking forward to a basic holiday of sun and fun somewhere more local this year. A perspective adjustment has been the best gift of all through all this. We don’t need more handbags, five star star hotels, an expensive watch, designer shoes, a bigger house, an elaborate overseas holiday and to work excessive hours. We need our health, soul, family and our friends to survive. Thank you 2021 for showing us all that the simple things fill the soul cup so very nicely, are more meaningful, longer lasting and are accessible easily.
