20 Jul Your Strength is Within
When we look to external things to make us stronger, they actually weaken us. Too many glasses of wine, that extra slice of cake, extra coffee or energy drinks, a chocolate bar, binge watching a Netflix series are all escapism tactics and the next day you awaken not refreshed at all and grabbing for the same things again back into the same cycle. Where the strength lies is inside you. You have a river of strength within you, you just need the space to clear the clutter and to be able to tap into your own reserve of strength.
Our breath is the one thing that can get us into and keep us in the now. If you sit quietly and take time to feel your breath, control it a little and send it to places needing healing it is such a great exercise for your mind to feel and be in the exact present moment. There is no past or future with the breath, there is no emotion or past emotion associated with it, it is just you, your breath and the now. This is where you are meant to be. Only a few minutes of this resets the mind, the body’s natural chemistry and syncs the heart beat, the brain waves and the lungs all back into rhythm. Tap the strength within to cope with whatever the day ahead brings, and remember you have everything you need and have more strength than you think.
